Villa Alba Museum

Villa Alba in Kew is important to the state of Victoria for architectural, historic, social and aesthetic reasons. Its cultural significance results from the unrivalled quality of its late Victorian hand-painted interiors. The Museum is currently closed but will re-open in February 2021. Until then, we recommend that you explore its interiors and garden using our ‘virtual doll’s house’.
Music at Villa Alba

A design commission presented by MPavilion, Open House Melbourne and Melbourne Music Week, MERGE is a collaborative project that sees five local music acts respond to—and perform in—five local heritage locations, to majestic effect. The artists chosen for MERGE represent a microcosm of the eclectic musical talent that has made Melbourne a global music hub. Here, sound artist Mara Schwerdtfeger performs in the Villa Alba Museum
