Villa Alba’s group of dedicated volunteers enables the Villa Alba Museum to successfully run open days, special events, defined projects and to reach out to the community. Villa Alba Volunteers develop new skills and knowledge, join a welcoming and passionate group with diverse backgrounds who are committed to preserving and promoting Villa Alba’s cultural heritage.
On Open Days, Museum Volunteers welcome visitors and share stories with them on the history of the house and its decoration. Prospective volunteers are not expected to be historians or decorative arts experts but we are keen that you share your enthusiasm for the house with others. Open Days currently occur 1 – 4pm on the first Sunday of the month.
Our restored heritage garden requires lots of maintenance! Garden Volunteers work in teams to complete routine activities such as pruning, weeding, sweeping and planting. Garden Volunteers work to ensure that our Garden Conservation Plan stays on track and the gardens look beautiful for Open Days and events.
The Villa Alba Museum maintains its own event program and also provides a venue for events organised by other groups. Events include performances, tours, lectures and social activities. Event Volunteer roles vary widely – from supervising the house during external hire events to coordinating and staging Villa Alba initiated events. The time required and the type of help needed varies.
Project and Specialist Volunteers
There are a number of opportunities for Project Volunteers in specialist areas such as exhibitions, research, history, human resources and administration. These roles are often time-limited or related to a specific activity.
How to apply
If you are interested in registering for one of these volunteer roles please download the Villa Alba – Volunteer Enquiry Form and email the completed form to email@example.com.
