Historic gardens are often ephemeral and what makes them special can easily be lost. This applies to both public and private gardens.
Helen Page, a horticulturalist and a former Chair of the Australian Garden History Society’s Victorian Branch, has a passion for historic gardens and has for many years led volunteer working bee projects in a range of historic gardens including the restoration of the garden at Bishopscourt in East Melbourne. In recent years she has worked with volunteers at the Boroondara General Cemetery restoring and rejuvenating this significant historic garden cemetery.
