Mobility
Arrival
While there are no designated accessible parking spaces, parking is generally available in Walmer Street and Nolan Avenue outside the southeast corner of the property. Note that there is no curb crossing/graded transition from the roadway directly outside the entry gate. The closest graded curb crossings are the driveway to the service gate 40m north of the main entrance and the driveway to the adjacent private home 20m south of the Villa’s main entrance.
Access to the Villa
Unfortunately, we do not have a wheelchair ramp into the house. There are three steps into the house via the front entrance and two steps via the side. Inside, access to the upper storey is by stairs only, so that only the ground floor is accessible to people with low mobility. (Ground-floor only tours can be arranged on request). Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor but involve one step to access the rear section of the building. (See photos below for details.) Paths to and around the building are firm, compressed gravel.

Tours
We are always happy to try and accommodate individual visitors with specific needs into our regular guided tours, but we are best able to do that if you call ahead to let us know about any particular requirements you have. For groups with specific needs, we can develop customised tours to support those needs.
Companion Card holders can bring their attendant free of charge.
